In family law, we see our clients spending a lot of time worrying about paying child support or receiving it.
Hummingbird Lawyers LLP has eliminated the guesswork by providing you with a child support calculator based on the government’s child support table!
While child support is not a “one size fits all” computation, this user-friendly calculator is valuable, as it allows you to calculate the table amount of child support you may be required to pay or entitled to receive in Ontario if the dependent children are in the primary care of a parent.
Child support is based on the income of the parent who is required to pay support. This calculation does not apply when the children are in a shared parenting arrangement (i.e. minimum of 40% with each parent) or cases, where some of the children are in the primary care of one parent and one or more children are in the primary care of the other parent.
We still recommend that you seek legal advice based on your specific situation and to determine your special or extraordinary expenses (often referred to as Section 7 expenses), which are not included in the child support table.
